Confluent Control Center Release Notes

Control Center is a web-based tool for managing and monitoring Confluent Platform.

Control Center is continuously updated with improvements and new features. This page highlights significant user-facing features and updates to the product.

[10/22/2025] Control Center version 2.3.0

New features

  • Client monitoring powered by KIP-714 metrics is now Generally Available.

  • Consumer lag time-series is now supported in normal mode instead of the point-in-time values from earlier versions.

  • Added support for Active/Active high-availability deployment.

  • Schema context support allows you to create a topic schema in a specific schema context. You can also create new schema context as part of the schema creation process. Additionally, when multiple schemas exist for a topic, you can choose which context should be used for deserializing messages in Control Center.

  • Use confluent local services start to start Control Center 2.0+ with Confluent Platform 8.1 in a single-node archive installation with Confluent CLI version 4.39.0 and higher.

  • Apache Flink® environment and application management in Confluent Manager for Apache Flink (CMF) is now Generally Available.

  • Generic webhook for alert notifications is now supported.

  • Control Center now uses Log4j2 as its logging framework.

  • Support for IPV6 available.

  • Support for monitoring and management of Confluent Platform 8.0 deployments.

  • Fixed error while producing to a topic from UI with an avro schema, containing long fields

[5/15/2025] Control Center version 2.0.0

New features

  • Compatible with Confluent Platform 7.5 - 7.9 versions

  • Supports monitoring of multiple clusters with up to 400K partitions (including replication).

  • Support for Basic Authentication with TLS, as well as mutual TLS (mTLS) for secure communications between internal Control Center components.

  • Features a lightweight design that lowers system requirements. For more information, see Confluent Control Center Installation.

Warnings

  • Upgrade from Control Center (Legacy) to Control Center isn’t supported.

  • Migration of metrics from Control Center (Legacy) 7.x versions to Control Center isn’t supported. Users are encouraged to run both versions for a transition period. For more information, see Confluent Control Center Installation.

  • You must run Control Center on a separate host/vm/container/machine than Control Center (Legacy). If you must use the same host (vm/container/machine), first remove Control Center (Legacy) completely and then perform a fresh installation of Control Center.

  • The following alerts supported in Confluent Platform 7.x versions aren’t supported and cannot be migrated.
