Organizations on Confluent Cloud¶
In Confluent Cloud, the Organization resource is the root node in the Confluent Cloud resource hierarchy. If you have a minimum spend commitment, there is a 1:1 relationship between one organization and one spend commit.
Organizations might contain:
- One to many user accounts.
- Zero to many service accounts.
- Zero to many environments.
When you first sign up for Confluent Cloud, a new organization is created simultaneously with the first user account that belongs to that organization. When you invite another user to Confluent Cloud, the invited user is added to the existing organization.
Organization settings¶
To access your organization settings:
In Confluent Cloud Console, open the sidebar menu. Below the current user name, click Organization settings.
If you belong to only one organization, your organization settings page appears. If you belong to multiple organizations, the Organizations page appears, displaying a list of the organizations you belong to.
If you belong to multiple organizations, click the name of the organization you want to change. The organization page appears.
On the Organizations page, you can:

Cloud Organization ID¶
Each organization in Confluent Cloud is uniquely identified by a Cloud Organization ID.
You can get your Cloud Organization ID on either the Organizations page or the Billing & payment page:
- Organizations page
In Confluent Cloud Console, go to the Organizations page at https://confluent.cloud/settings/organizations.
The Organizations page appears with a listing of the organizations that you are a member of, displaying the Name and the ID (Cloud Organization ID). The label Current appears next to the organization you are signed in to.
- Billings & payment page

Leaving an organization revokes your access to its resources and data. If you need to regain access, you must be invited back by an existing member or the owner.
If you are the last member of the organization, you can leave the organization as long as you have deleted any active resources (for example, clusters and connectors), and then click Leave this organization. After you leave an organization that you are the only member of, the organization goes into a suspended mode and is deleted after the suspension grace period.
To leave an organization:
In Confluent Cloud Console, open the sidebar menu. Below the current user name, click Organization settings.
If you belong to only one organization, your organization settings page appears. If you belong to multiple organizations, the Organizations page appears, displaying a list of the organizations you belong to.

Click Leave this organization. The Leave organization dialog appears.
Enter the Organization name and click Confirm.
You are removed from the organization.
Delete an organization¶
RBAC role required: OrganizationAdmin
Deleting an organization removes all resources and data. You cannot undo this action. Once an organization is deleted, it cannot be restored.
You can delete an organization if it does not have a minimum spend commitment.
Deleting an organization does not affect billing that has accrued to date.
- Your registered payment method is charged on the scheduled payment date, even if you delete the organization.
- After deletion, your organization does not accrue additional charges.
To delete an organization:
In Confluent Cloud Console, open the sidebar menu. Below the current user name, click Organization settings.
If you belong to only one organization, your organization settings page appears. If you belong to multiple organizations, the Organizations page appears, displaying a list of the organizations you belong to.
