# Changelog ## Version 1.6.0 * CC-41362: Added support for capturing Oracle `RAW` and `XMLType` columns. #### IMPORTANT * When using a custom snapshot SELECT statement, you must explicitly serialize `XMLType` columns to a CLOB using the `XMLSERIALIZE` function. * If existing captured tables contain `RAW` or `XMLType` columns, these columns will begin flowing into records after the upgrade. The schema for the affected subjects will evolve to include the new fields, and the fields will propagate to downstream consumers. Before upgrading, ensure your Schema Registry compatibility settings allow this change and that the registry is not read-only (globally or per-subject), and that your downstream systems can handle the new fields. To opt out, exclude these columns using `column.exclude.list` before upgrading. * CC-41827: Enhanced the connector to run without the `SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE` role when the database user has `SELECT` privilege on the specific catalog views it needs. For required views, see the database prerequisites. * CC-41828: Added support for pointing the connector’s source connection at an Active Data Guard physical standby in a cascading downstream capture topology, offloading initial snapshot and schema queries from the source database.
