# USM Agent Release Notes

This page lists each USM Agent release, its release date, and
what changed. The USM Agent is a self-managed
component that is versioned independently of the Confluent Platform release cycle,
so a single agent version can support multiple Confluent Platform versions.

## [June 19, 2026] USM Agent 1.2.0

USM Agent 1.2.0 is a minor release.

### New features

USM Agent 1.2.0 adds native installation support on Red Hat Enterprise
Linux (RHEL) 8. On USM Agent 1.0.x and 1.1.x, RHEL 8 is not supported
natively, and you deploy the agent as a container using Podman instead. For the
full operating system support list, see [Supported operating systems](support-policy.md#usm-os-compatibility).

## [March 26, 2026] USM Agent 1.1.0

USM Agent 1.1.0 is a minor release.

### New features

USM Agent 1.1.0 adds dual-stack networking support, which combines
IPv4 and IPv6 so that clients in IPv6-enabled environments can connect to the
agent. Dual-stack networking requires Confluent Platform 8.2 or later. To configure it, see
[IPv6 and dual-stack networking](manage/networking.md#usm-ipv6-dual-stack).
