Migrate to Confluent CLI v3

The release of Confluent CLI v3 introduces a number of breaking changes aimed at providing a better user experience. This page includes the following:

Note that accommodating the breaking changes might require updating your existing scripts. If you have any questions or comments, email the Confluent CLI team.

Important

In line with Confluent’s major upgrades policy, confluent v2 is now marked as deprecated. Because official support for confluent v2 has ended, Confluent recommends you migrate to Confluent CLI v3.

Breaking changes for Confluent CLI

Migrate to Confluent CLI v3

If you are an existing Confluent CLI user, you can upgrade to Confluent CLI v3 by running the following command:

confluent update --major
