Migrate from an existing Confluent cluster to Confluent for Kubernetes

To migrate from a non-Kubernetes Confluent cluster to a Confluent for Kubernetes (CFK) deployment, you would need to perform the following steps:

1. Deploy a new CFK-managed cluster by following the Deployment workflow.

2. Move topic data over to the CFK cluster using Cluster Linking.

   • Data Migration with Cluster Linking
   • Run Cluster Linking in CFK using the declarative API.

3. Migrate clients to produce/consume from the new CFK managed cluster.

4. Decommission the old cluster.

   Once all operations are confirmed to be working properly, you can then decommission the old cluster.
