Review the following considerations for the USM Agent support policy:
Starting with USM Agent 1.0.0, the standard support policy extends for two years from the initial
.0release date.Platinum tier support is unavailable for the USM Agent.
If you have a Confluent Enterprise license, each USM Agent version receives up to two quarterly patch updates during the first six months, depending on the initial release date.
The USM Agent 1.0.0 version receives up to two quarterly patches, 1.0.1 and 1.0.2, within six months based on the initial release.
Patches do not extend beyond these two updates, such as a 1.0.3 patch.
To get newer fixes or features after the six-month window, upgrade to the next minor or major USM Agent version.
Supported operating systems
The following table shows the supported operating systems for the USM Agent when deployed on virtual machines or bare-metal servers using Ansible Playbooks for Confluent Platform. The USM Agent supports Java 17 and Java 21. For containerized deployments using Confluent for Kubernetes, any Linux OS that supports Kubernetes is compatible.

Native installation requires USM Agent 1.2.0 or later. USM Agent 1.0.x and 1.1.x are not compatible with RHEL 8. On those earlier versions, deploy the USM Agent as a container using Podman instead.
