Confluent Assistant overview

Confluent Assistant provides AI agents in Confluent Cloud that help you operate and troubleshoot your resources. Each agent focuses on one job and makes changes only after you approve them.

During Early Access, Confluent Assistant includes one agent, the Connect Troubleshooting Agent, which diagnoses a failed fully managed connector, recommends a fix, and applies the fix with your approval.

Confluent Assistant is a different feature from the Confluent AI Assistant, which is a chat interface for questions about Confluent Cloud, Confluent documentation, and Confluent Support articles. For more information about the Confluent AI Assistant, see Confluent AI Assistant for Confluent Cloud.

Note

Confluent Assistant is an Early Access Program feature in Confluent Cloud.

An Early Access feature is a component of Confluent Cloud introduced to gain feedback. This feature should be used only for evaluation and non-production testing purposes or to provide feedback to Confluent, particularly as it becomes more widely available in follow-on preview editions.

Early Access Program features are intended for evaluation use in development and testing environments only, and not for production use. Early Access Program features are provided: (a) without support; (b) “AS IS”; and (c) without indemnification, warranty, or condition of any kind. No service level commitment will apply to Early Access Program features. Early Access Program features are considered to be a Proof of Concept as defined in the Confluent Cloud Terms of Service. Confluent may discontinue providing preview releases of the Early Access Program features at any time in Confluent’s sole discretion.

To request access, contact your Confluent account team. The feature is available at no extra charge during Early Access.

How Confluent Assistant agents work

Every Confluent Assistant agent follows the same principles:

  • Acts as you: An agent runs with your existing Confluent Cloud RBAC permissions and doesn’t grant new access. If you don’t have permission to restart a connector, the agent can’t restart it on your behalf.

  • Scoped access: An agent reaches only the resources and information that its job needs.

  • You approve every change: An agent proposes changes, and it doesn’t apply any of them until you confirm.

During Early Access, Confluent Assistant agents are available in the Cloud Console only.
