Create and Manage Your Confluent Cloud Account

Create a Confluent Cloud account to sign in to the Confluent Cloud Console and manage your organization’s resources. After you create your account, you can change your sign-in method, organization name, or payment method, and manage access to your organization.

Create your account

Create a Confluent Cloud account to sign in to the Confluent Cloud Console and manage your own organization.

To create a Confluent Cloud account:

  1. Go to the Confluent Cloud sign-up page, complete the form with your name, organization, email address, and country, and click Start free.

  2. Open the verification email Confluent sends you and click Verify email address.

  3. Set a password that meets the password requirements and click Continue. This signs you in to the Confluent Cloud Console.

Creating your account also creates your organization, with you as its only member. You’re automatically granted the OrganizationAdmin role, so you can invite teammates to join your organization, manage permissions, and perform other administrator actions.

To add teammates to your organization, see Manage Local User Accounts on Confluent Cloud. To sign in with Google or GitHub instead of a username and password, see Change the authentication method.

Modify your account

After you create your account, you can change how you sign in, rename your organization, and manage the payment method on file.

Change your sign-in method

A local user account can authenticate using username/password, Google, or GitHub. Only you can switch your account between these sign-in options. For steps, see Change the authentication method.

Change your organization name

A Confluent Cloud organization has an editable display name, separate from its Organization ID. For steps, see Change an organization name.

Manage your payment method

Add a payment method, or change your credit card or billing email address. Payment methods include credit cards, US bank accounts, and cloud provider billing. You need the OrganizationAdmin or BillingAdmin role to manage payment methods. For steps, see Manage your payment method.

Manage organization access

What you can do to end access depends on whether you’re the only member of your organization, one of several members, or an administrator removing someone else’s access.

If you’re one of several members, the main way to delete your account is to ask an administrator in your organization to remove it. If you need additional help, you can contact Confluent Support.

Delete your organization

If you’re the only member of your organization, which is the common case for a new or trial signup, you can delete your organization. This permanently removes all your data and resources. You can’t delete an organization that has a minimum spend commitment. Deletion takes effect three days after you confirm it. To stop a scheduled deletion, contact Confluent Support before then. Your registered payment method is still charged on the scheduled payment date for usage that accrued before deletion. This is the final charge, and you aren’t charged afterward.

Leave your organization

If you’re one of several members and want to remove only your own access, see Leave an organization. If you’re the only OrganizationAdmin user in the organization, you must first grant that role to another user.

If you’re the only member, you must first delete any active resources, such as clusters and connectors. After you leave, the organization is suspended and then deleted after the suspension grace period.

Remove a teammate’s access

If you have the OrganizationAdmin or AccountAdmin role and you’re removing a teammate’s access, not your own, see Delete a local user account.
